The announcement earlier this year from Nintendo of America which stated that Pokemon GO developer Niantic is developing a Pikmin augmented reality game really came out of the blue as it never really came to the forefront of anyones mind. During Nintendo’s latest financial results the Kyoto-based company mentioned the Pikmin AR game for iOS and Android and said that the game is planned for release during the second half of the year. Mobile gamers in Singapore had a chance to try out the app during a short beta test and it did sound rather promising. Hopefully we should hear more about it soon.
“In our mobile business, we will focus on continuing to operate the applications that we have released to date, along with the application featuring Pikmin from Niantic that is planned for the second half of 2021, and work on ways to encourage more consumers to continue to enjoy playing these applications.”

“Niantic’s AR technology has made it possible for us to experience the world as if Pikmin are secretly living all around us. Based on the theme of making walking fun, our mission is to provide people a new experience that’s different from traditional games. We hope that the Pikmin and this app will become a partner in your life.”
Shigeru Miyamoto
It makes sense to cross promote pikmin which will fans later crossover a checkout the core Pikmin series. It could help bridge the gap and increase excitement for the alleged upcoming Pikmin 4.
There’s a Pikmin 4? I been hearing this for so long, my ears have become sore. I just made it in my mind to close the door.
It’s been available in Australia, too. Been playing it every day since the end of May, and it’s nice! There isn’t really much to it, but I kind of like it that way. Doesn’t eat up hours of your time, it’s just something nice to check in on when you’re walking and at the end of the day when the Pikmin ask you how your day was and pick out a photo for you to save in your journal. There’s no competitive edge, just the satisfaction of seeing your walks represented by pretty flowers and seeing where other people have walked, too. …Although I have wondered if they might end up having a problem if people start using that to stalk others lol
Why make this game mobile when Pikmin fans been waiting for a real Pikmin game global.
It’s really a nice and useful piece of information. I’m satisfied that you just shared this helpful information with us.
