In a move which has surprised and pleased fans, Devolver Digital and Ron Gilbert have announced that Return to Monkey Island is currently in active development. The new game is a sequel to both PC point and click classics, Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge, and will arrive later this year. Platforms have not been discussed as of yet by Devolver Digital, but fingers are firmly crossed that a Nintendo Switch version is in the works. One of the best PC gaming news ever.😊 (I know platforms hasn’t been confirmed yet but still) I loved the first two games (despite the non-sense ending of LeChuck’s Revenge), enjoyed the third game, and pretty much loathed the fourth and fifth games (though I liked Morgan LeFlay from Tales).
While this game is a direct sequel to the first two games, seems like Curse will still be part of the canon lore (https://twitter.com/grumpygamer/status/1511022135191384067), thats good.
