You may recall that, last night, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai released his final daily screenshot of the game on Twitter. You may also recall that, simultaneously, he teased an announcement that would be coming sometime today.
Well, it came somewhat late, but Sakurai has made his announcement. He says that he’s “decided to start a new YouTube channel”, and it has launched moments ago. The channel is called “Masahiro Sakurai on Creating Games”. According to its description, you’ll be able to join Sakurai as he “reflects on his work in the games industry and offers insightful and easy-to-understand advice about game development”. His announcement tweet of the YouTube channel is down below.
I have a lot of respect for Sakurai, I’m sure there will be plenty of good pointers to glean from this. Wonder if he’ll have any advice on level design; according to my friends who’ve played my Mario Maker 2 world, that seems to be my specialty.
I have full respect of Sakurai. I’m pretty sure he will give us some pointers about game development.
