SEGA has recently released the SEGA Mega Drive Mini 2 both in the west and in Japan and it is available exclusively via Amazon. Twitter user Gosokkyu has imported a Japanese Mega Drive Mini 2 and says that it contains a link & 4-digit password for a user questionnaire on the inner flap of the box. One of the questions presented is what SEGA Mini console they would like to see next. The options given include SEGA Saturn Mini and a SEGA Dreamcast Mini, both of which would do just fine Here’s the devices the questionnaire suggests:
Q.30: Which classic SEGA hardware replica would you like to see next? (Select multiple)
- SC-3000
- SG-1000/1000 II
- Mark III/Master System
- Saturn
- Dreamcast
- MD Mini 3
- Game Gear Micro 2
- Non-Micro Game Gear
- Arcade a la Astro City Mini
- Other (Specify)
- Not particularly interested

I’d rather them port the games to the current consoles than make an entirely different peripheral really. Only reason why I don’t get the mini consoles is because it’s highly tedious to keep disconnecting and rearranging consoles when I’m in the mood to play a specific game, and even if I wasn’t worried about them there’s the scalpers that are still a huge problem in this industry.
I never played dreamcast or saturn so I’ll take any of those
If Saturn Mini gets Panzer Dragon Saga, I’m all for it.
If no; Dreamcast mini
Dream Cast mini or Game Gear Mini, played Dream Cast didn’t really play Game Gear.
Dreamcast Mini, but ONLY if we get the OG Sonic Adventure on it, not the DX Director’s Cut that actually made parts of the game worse.
The one that let’s us play Saturn or Dreamcast games (or both).
The things that can’t be emulated outside of PC.
Thinking outside of the box….something that wasn’t listed or ever released for that matter….Sega Mars Prototype Mini, featuring 32X games (Virtual Racing Deluxe, Primal Rage, NBA JAM TE, MKII, Knuckles Chaotix, Kolibri, WrestleMania: The Arcade Game), another round of Sega MD/Genesis and more Sega CD games like Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side, Road Avenger, one of the Lunar CD games, Popful Mail, Heart of the Alien, Keio Flying Squadron to start with….licensing might be a major hassle for those 32X Acclaim games though.
Correction – It’s not called the Sega Mars. It’s the Sega Neptune prototype.
