The official Crash Bandicoot Twitter had teased an announcement earlier today, and now we know why. It has been officially confirmed at The Game Awards 2022 that a new Crash Bandicoot game is going to be coming soon.
The game is called Crash Team Rumble, and it is a 4 vs. 4 multiplayer game. It is slated to release in 2023. As for platforms, it is currently only slated to come out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
The Nintendo Switch was not mentioned, but with other recent Crash releases having been ported to the Switch, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Crash Team Rumble may get a Switch release someday. In the meantime, the official announcement tweet can be seen down below.
This was not the Crash announcement I was expecting, though the mutated marsupial seems to be in a good spot since the N-Sane Trilogy a few years back, so this has potential to be a good game.
I forgot this game actually leaked a long time ago… so it still ended up being a surprise.
Seemed like a MOBA to me. I hope it’s more a family focused thing, rather than e-sport + lootbox stuff, but we’ll have to see.
