2022 was a busy year for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack’s retro libraries, with there being a lot of games that had been added. In fact, even though it is now 2023, there are still a few Nintendo 64 games that Nintendo confirmed last fall that are slated to release this year.
Well, one of them has officially released tonight. As Nintendo had promised, GoldenEye 007 is now available to play for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members. Nintendo of America tweeted the news, so you can see their tweet down below.
Nice, so I guess we will have to wait for the September Nintendo Direct, to find out if any more Rare classics are coming. I would love either, Banjo-Tooie, Perfect Dark, Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Kong 64 😁💖
Definitely up for some Diddy Kong Racing, hopefully that eventually comes….
Yes, me too Sickr 😁💖 if they did do Diddy Kong Racing, due to Banjo’s presence on the game, it would make sense that they would put Diddy Kong Racing on Xbox Live too, Nintendo would have to allow it for this title, it’s only fair after all 😊💖
Perfect Dark, Blast Corps, Banjo-Kazooie, & Diddy Kong Racing is all I really want. (I’m excluding DK64 since DK belongs to Nintendo. I don’t get why this game should be a licensing issue.)
Also the pause menu music sounds fine. So people need to relax!
It was an issue with the audio included in a tweet by Nintendo and thankfully isn’t in the newly released game. This post was updated last night 😊 https://mynintendonews.com/2023/01/26/goldeneye-007s-pause-music-is-slightly-different-on-switch/
Really cool how the frame rate is now at 60 instead of.. whatever the 64 was running at, but the game itself… yeah it hasn’t aged well at all, so clunky
‘yeah it hasn’t aged well at all, so clunky’
The fact that people are surprised my this is hilarious to me. Nostalgia vision strikes again.
This game is still pretty good. I have to go swap the Joy-Con sticks in the settings to play it like a modern shooter, though.
