Capcom updates its all-time best-selling games list

Japanese gaming company Capcom's logo

Capcom has now updated its Platinum Titles list which shows their all-time best-selling software since the company’s inception. Platinum Titles are games which have sold over one million units. The newly provided numbers really do showcase just how popular Monster Hunter World was in both Japan and the west with the game having a substantial sales lead over other classic video games in the list. Monster Hunter World was far more popular than the Resident Evil series of games, which have had a special place in gamers heart’s since the PlayStation One.

“In the home video game market, sales of more than one million units is the generally accepted standard for a major hit. Since Capcom’s inception, we have created many of these titles, including Street Fighter and Resident Evil. With over 100 titles that have sold more than one million units, Capcom stands alone in the video game industry. This page lists these hit titles by sales volume, and includes box art, video, screenshots and other information about these games.”

  1. Personally i perfer Monster Hunter Rise over Monster Hunter World. Maybe because MHR is somewhat more beginner friendly and your not so dependent on playing online. I couldn’t hardly make any progress on MHW unless i was playing online, like it was forcing me to play online.

  2. I think I more or less says the same thing every time Capcom publishes this list; but Monster Hunter World was an absolute blast. Best game since Super Mario 64. If the world vent under for whatever reason, and I was sitting in front of a fire in a post apocalyptic wasteland, you would hear me saying “gaming peaked with MHW. Nothing beat it since”.

  3. Too bad the Switch is too weak to get Re4 remake. They should have thought about horsepower when the NX was in R&D. Who is the idiot at Nintendo’s R&D who decides on Horsepower anyway?
