Animal Crossing: New Horizons continues to surprise players, even three years after its initial release. As I was perusing the Animal Crossing subreddit, I came across a post that revealed a little-known feature of the game – players can actually rotate items in the D.I.Y menu to get a better look at them. While this may seem like a trivial discovery, it actually proved to be quite useful for the player who posted about it.
This particular player was struggling to identify the Wooden Fish D.I.Y item at first glance, but was able to figure it out by rotating it in the menu. And it turns out, many other players were just as shocked as I was to learn about this feature. “WAIT YOU CAN ROTATE HERE??” exclaimed one user in the comments. “There’s literally something new to learn every day in this game.”
But this is just one of many little discoveries that players have made over the years while playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons. From dung beetles building snow-boys to controlling the football fish’s light, there’s always something new to learn.
One of the more recent discoveries is that the Venus Flowerbasket sea creature actually has a couple of critters living inside it – a fact that Blathers will surely appreciate. And for those looking for more wholesome discoveries, it turns out that you can craft alongside your villagers at a workbench, and that your island’s residents use Discord if they have the gaming PC desk item in their homes.
Of course, not all discoveries are positive. It was recently revealed that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will become unplayable in 38 years. But, as the article assures, players can simply rewind time in-game to continue playing as normal.
It’s clear that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a game that continues to surprise and delight players, even years after its release. With so many little secrets to uncover, it’s no wonder that fans keep coming back for more.
