Former Silicon Knights boss thinks a Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem remaster would sell well

21 years ago, Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem was released in the Nintendo GameCube. The game was developed by Silicon Knights and published by Nintendo. Silicon Knights no longer exists, but Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem hasn’t been forgotten at all.

In fact, former Silicon Knights boss Denis Dyack, who was the game’s director and writer, recently spoke about the game in an interview with KIWI TALKZ. In the interview, Dyack says that he he “gets asked all the time” about a remaster of the game. Dyack continued, saying that “would a remaster of Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem sell well today? I think so”. As for whether Dyack thinks it’ll happen or not, he said that “who knows, maybe someday”.

  1. It would do well enough, maybe even as much as Metroid Prime (not the remaster) or half of those sales.

    1. Yes indeed. Imagine a final fantasy 6 remake for the next switch. By monolith and the team at square enix that made final fantasy 14. Dream dream dream. Kefka for the win too 😎 🎮.

      F=ma.

  2. Great game back on Gamecube. Of course Denis would want a remaster as he would stand to make money from it. I think Nintendo might not want to do a remaster because didn’t Denis take Microsoft’s money to do projects for them instead? And then there’s serious allegations against him. He destroyed Silicon Knights as well. Silicon Knights had one good game which Nintendo helped a great deal on. It’s one of those games with baggage.

  3. A remake would be better, honestly. The only things that would really need upgrading, though, is the character/enemy models, the environment stuff, & the TV related sanity effects.

  4. Remaster or a Remake even with an expanded story would be fantastic I loved this game it was the perfect mix of creepy and wtf.
