Capcom says Ace Attorney series “is currently doing exceptionally well” worldwide

Capcom’s Ace Attorney series has been a thing for over 20 years now. Recently, Nintendo fans have been able to play quite a few of the franchise’s games. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles released on the Nintendo Switch in 2019 and 2021, respectively.

As for how well the series is currently doing, Capcom COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto briefly gave an answer to that in an interview with Famitsu that has been translated by Nintendo Everything. In the interview, Tsujimoto was asked for his opinion on working with existing IPs.

The interview’s focus was mainly for Mega Man and Ghost Trick, the latter of which is directed by Shu Takumi. However, Takumi also works on the Ace Attorney series, which resulted in Tsujimoto to mention that the series “is currently doing exceptionally well across the globe”.

  1. Hard not to do well when the Trilogy gets ported to everything since 2005 and I’m sure still sells well (I know I bought it on Switch years after getting them individually on Wii).

That said, when can we expect AA7? Better yet, an official English release of Investigations 2 and/or word of ports of the 3DS games which are no longer obtainable?
