Patricia Summersett reprising role as Zelda in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

It’s hard to believe, but May has arrived, which means that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is getting very close to releasing. In fact, the game is releasing in less than 2 weeks from now. With that said, we got some more news on the game’s voice cast earlier today.

You see, Patricia Summersett has confirmed on her Twitter account that “I’ve been given the thumbs up by Nintendo to confirm that I am reprising my role as Princess Zelda in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom”. She has been voicing Zelda since 2017, when The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild released. You can see her announcement tweet about the matter down below.

      1. Yeah, and if Samuel L Jackson was cast and came in to read Zelda’s lines, then that would also be called “acting” but I’d still be asking WHY.

    1. Ask the director. That’s the voice they WANTED her to do. Ya’ll are ridiculous, but it’s expected.

  1. No offense, but it was obvious from the second trailer.

I presume everyone who voiced a character from BotW (Sidon, Riju, etc.) will be reprising their roles if that character returns here.

  2. No offense to her as I’m sure she’s doing her best, but she was heavily miscast right from the start. Zelda should never have a voice that deep, not to mention the bad accent.

    1. My guy, you are posting under literally every article – what are you doing with your time lol.

        1. I mean this site gets a new article every now and again so it’s not like it takes much time to post a comment.
        2. What does it matter? It’s his time, let him spend it however he wants.

  3. Yeah, it’s awful how the game starts before it gives you a chance to change the audio to Japanese and you have to listen to her voice until you have access to the menu. Yikes! Thankfully it’s just a few seconds.

  4. everyone saying that her performance is awful, blame the localization director…in this case blame the weeb (tree) house for giving the instruction of dubbing the games like a bad anime adaptation.

  5. I really don’t get why people hate her voice, I’ve listened to it many times and I’ve always loved it.

    1. I never said it was terrible. I just wonder why she’s the only one with the accent. I don’t even think her father had the accent (all I remember is it sounded like a young guy doing an old guy’s voice).

It just feels like the two main qualities they decided she should have was “emotional” and “posh” with her secondary qualities being “headstrong” and “academic”. It’s not terrible but… it’s a little questionable.
