Famitsu has published information from a new Japanese online seminar which was hosted by Koichi Hamamura, Senior Advisor for Digital Entertainment at KADOKAWA, which is titled The Current Status and Prospects of the Game Industry in Spring 2023 – The Game Industry Towards Season 2. The event naturally talked about the big console makers and has revealed that Nintendo has a number of “promising games” from third parties due out later this year. It should be noted that last year’s event was apparently spot on.
“In addition to Nintendo, a number of promising titles are scheduled for release from third parties. Another strength of the Nintendo Switch is that not only new titles but also older titles are still selling well. The reason for this is that even after release, additional DLC and expansion passes are regularly distributed, and are always promoted in the same way as new titles.”

Let’s do it. I’ll play my switch another year or two. No need to be impatient for a new console when this one still can provide perfectly well.
Color me hyped as long those titles include a few adventure platformers and JRPGs🤩
I really hope switch 2 is backwards compatible. Too many games on switch i wish I could play with higher performance. Emulation is looking more and more likely for me tbh
I’m honestly not much for emulation, but if we don’t get BC with performance patches for existing Switch games, I will almost certainly turn to emulation for several titles.
As long the games are fun i’m all for it.
