Former Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher veterans forms new studio, Blank

A number of former CD Projekt Red staff members have decided enough is enough and have formed their own studio which is named, Blank. The company’s co-founder is Mateusz Kanik, who was the game director for Cyberpunk 2077 and also the co-game director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt along with former executive producers, Jędrzej Mróz and Marcin Jefimow, and Rookiez from Warsaw S.A’s Mikołaj Marchewka. GameSpot also reports that Michal Dobrowolski (CD Projekt Red) as design director, Artur Ganszyniec (CD Projekt Red, 11 Bit Studios) as narrative director, and Grzegorz Przybyś (Division 48 Studio, Artificer) as art director and they are currently looking for more talented individuals to join the team. Blank’s debut game is a post-apocalyptic adventure, which has yet to be unveiled.

“After working for years in an increasingly conservative industry, we’re ready to make bold, impactful projects that share our unique creativity and values. Where the industry champions a dictatorship of the creative individual, we want to give ownership to the team. Where the industry leans on crunch culture, we prefer work-life balance. Where the industry says bigger is better, we’re setting our sights on highly polished games with a focus on emotion, story, and craftsmanship.”

  1. Omg a post-apocalyptic adventure game. Could it be the next Fallout? Death Stranding? Nier Automata? Last of Us, perhaps? I’m thrilled to see this new studio tackling new concepts and big ideas! A post-apocalyptic adventure game is sure to fill an untapped market niche! How daring.
