Umbraclaw launching on Nintendo Switch

Inti Creates, the developer behind the highly anticipated side-scrolling action game Umbraclaw, has made an exciting announcement. The game, initially planned for a PC release on Steam, will also be launching on the Nintendo Switch. This news was revealed alongside the release of the first gameplay trailer, as well as new information and screenshots. Umbraclaw follows the story of Kuon, a courageous cat navigating the afterlife called the Soulplane in a quest to return home to his master. Directed by Satoru Nishizawa, known for his work on Blaster Master Zero, Umbraclaw showcases the unexpected heroism and coolness of cats. The game features a captivating art style that combines enchanting visuals with a touch of darkness, perfectly reflecting its intriguing narrative.

The addition of a Nintendo Switch release opens up even more possibilities for players to experience the captivating journey of Kuon. Attendees of the upcoming BitSummit Let’s Go!! event will have the opportunity to play a demo of the Switch version at the Inti Creates booth, providing a taste of the game’s unique mechanics and atmosphere. Throughout the game, players will need to utilize Kuon’s special abilities, such as “Shadowstep” and “Anima Revive,” to overcome the various dangers of the Soulplane. “Shadowstep” allows Kuon to dash through enemies and their attacks, providing a means of evasion. However, it depletes his stamina with each use. On the other hand, “Anima Revive” grants Kuon a second chance at life, imbuing him with new skills acquired from absorbing the souls of animals.
