The Nintendo Labo themed Switch has now been acquired

After five years of relentless searching and one year of negotiations, the ultimate online console database, ‘Consolevariations,’ has accomplished what seemed impossible – securing the super rare Nintendo Labo themed Switch. This exclusive unit was originally part of an official Nintendo competition held in 2018 across the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia. According to the database, only around seven of these special Nintendo Switch systems are believed to exist, making them an incredibly rare find. With a rarity value of 98 out of 100, it’s safe to say that stumbling upon one of these Labo Switches is akin to finding a hidden treasure. Thanks to ‘Consolevariations,’ this unique unit was obtained directly from one of the lucky competition winners, ensuring its preservation for gaming enthusiasts to admire.

While the exact number of these Labo Switches in Nintendo’s possession remains unknown, there’s a possibility that a few more might be tucked away in their vaults. Former Nintendo of America employee, Kit Ellis, now co-host of Kit & Krysta, was one of the fortunate few to have held one of these exclusive units before the contest began. He marveled at how it perfectly captured the look and feel of cardboard, a testament to the innovative design that Labo is known for. The mission of ‘Consolevariations’ is to compile a comprehensive database featuring the rarest consoles in the world. Alongside the Nintendo Labo themed Switch, the site showcases other noteworthy finds, such as the Need for Speed: Most Wanted PlayStation 2 and Game Boy Advance prototypes. If you’re an avid collector or just fascinated by the gaming world’s hidden gems, this site is a treasure trove of unique gaming history. So, if you ever come across one of these exceptionally rare Labo Switches, don’t hesitate to scoop it up – you might never get another chance to own such a valuable piece of gaming history.

      1. Except it wasn’t. Nintendo dropped the announcement out of nowhere and clearly said it was for a specific audience. Idk how that’s “hyped up”

        1. It’s as almost if labo didn’t have a big advertising campaign, also literally every thing Nintendo does is made for different types of audience, I’m just talking about how big Nintendo tried to make it and how irrelevant it’s become now, I’m pretty sure most people haven’t heard about labo since 2019

          1. It didn’t though. Simply advertising a product is not a “big advertising campaign”. It felt like that because they had to explain a bunch of stuff on how it worked since it is not you usual game or peripherial.
