Apparently the Gollum game apology was written by ChatGPT & staff weren’t informed

The Lord of the Rings:Gollum video game

A new video is making the rounds for the poorly reviewed video game, Lord of the Rings Gollum, thanks to the investigative work of the German YouTube channel Game Two. One of the many interesting things, claimed by two sources who spoke to Game Two, is that the apology letter which was published on social media in May, was devised by the publisher Nacon and was written by ChatGPT. The two Daedalic employees say that they were not informed about the apology letter before it went live. You can watch the full findings in the documentary about Lord of the Rings: Gollum and the aforementioned apology letter below.

    1. He’s too busy thinking about the ring to write the letter.🤣
Jokes aside, they should have informed the staff cuz this makes their apology disingenuous.

  1. I doubt the apology would have been anymore meaningful if written by an actual person rather then a.i capable of generating human-like text.

  2. I’m truly disgusted by the way this “company” abused and exploited their workers. What a disgrace for the german games industry.

  3. I have a masters in communication. They teach you the range and strategies and when to employ each one and how to write the press release. You can apologize, shift the blame, attack the accuser etc. it is all fairly deceptive practice from Edward Bernay’s propaganda. If they are dialogic, which means having a back and forth conversation, they’re following grunig which is the not evil version of PR.
