Sonic Superstars graphics comparison (Nintendo Switch vs PS5)

The vibrant Sonic Superstars is now available, and if you missed it, you can watch the game’s launch trailer here. Today, GameXPlain has put together a video showcasing a visual comparison for the Nintendo Switch version of Sonic Superstars compared to the PlayStation 5 version. As you would expect, the game certainly looks nicer on the PlayStation 5, but the Nintendo Switch version doesn’t look like something to be sniffed at. We won’t know for sure how both versions compare until the team at Digital Foundry does their magic. You can watch the two versions and how they compare down below.

    1. You’re joking right? The color difference alone makes the switch look like it’s being played on a cheap $89 Walmart branded 720P TV it’s so washed out. I usually prefer games on switch because it gives me more time to play, but it’s downright ugly here.

There is always going to be graphical differences between switch and other machines, but this isn’t that….it’s quite literally like it’s being played on the world’s first LCD screen it looks so badly washed out. I almost wonder if it’s something that can be fixed it’s so bad.

  1. How come Mynintendonews can post articles that specifically mention PlayStation on a Nintendo fourm, but if anyone mentions PlayStation in the comment section everyone acts like it’s against the fourm Terms of Service or Code of Conduct. .. I know right!

    1. How many times are you gonna post the same crap response every time PS is mentioned. Are you that butthurt? MNN is the actual site and they can do what they want, not to mention its a comparison video. You have serious issues if you feel the need to post this exact comment every single time. Grow TF up.

    2. Whattaya mean? I mention other companies plenty of times. ESPECIALLY if they relate to the topic in some way. (Sometimes even very loosely related to ze topic. Like how MNN will cover something like the live action Gargoyles, which is loosely related to a video game, from the same franchise, coming to Switch. )

    3. Even IF someone did have an issue with me doing that, I’d just ignore them & keep doing so. Because MNN is pretty lenient & won’t permaban you from here. (Unless you got REALLY out of line & was cyberbullying or threatening someone.)

  2. Who actually cares about this? People already know what console they’re getting it on. I’ve got everything, but Sonic + Handheld = graphics don’t matter. They never have. Fun first.

  3. I noticed at the beginning they made it seem like Nintendo was more bland but when they went to actual gameplay comparisons the Switch looked better. PS had blurred backgrounds while switch was nice and clear.

    1. It’s called depth of field, which the Switch can’t handle. The Switch version of this game looks considerably worse than the PS5 version, which is to be expected. I don’t care about portability so these 3rd party games hold no interest for me.
