During EA’s Q3 earnings call, CEO Andrew Wilson was asked about the successor to the Switch, which is speculated to be launching later this year, though Nintendo has yet to mentioned it. Wilson said he couldn’t comment on the Switch 2, but said that improved technical capabilities will be a bonus to EA software developers who have had to finely optimise their games to run on the current Nintendo Switch system.
‘I can absolutely not comment on anything that has not been announced, or acknowledge it in any way,’ Wilson replied.
‘What I would say, however, is, to the extent that platforms over the course of the last 20 years [have] offered improved CPU, GPU, memory, battery life, screen resolution… to the extent that those things have happened, where we’re able to deliver more immersion for our players, particularly around our biggest franchises like FC, like Madden, like Apex, like Battlefield, that has typically been very good for our business. Our players’ ability to really experience our games at the highest level has typically worked out very well for us.’
He added: ‘So without commenting at all about anything around Nintendo or Switch, I would just say new platforms are good for us, and when new improvements offer improved CPU, GPU, memory, battery life, screen resolution, that typically is a plus for our particular portfolio of games and the communities that play them.’

Seems more like a general response. We have to wait and see if it releases this year.
Oh yeah. It’s legacy edition time
I think not because the latest version of FC Sports is using the Frostbite engine and from what I read, is the same content of the other platforms.
What a load of hot ait. This really says nothing about anything. XD
“Our players’ ability to really experience our games at the highest level has typically worked out very well for us.”
“I would just say new platforms are good for us”
“…that typically is a plus for our particular portfolio of games and the communities that play them.”
^You could have asked him for the weather report and he might as well have given the same empty answer.
XD
EA is typically good for EA!
“I would just say that vitamin D is good for us”
“A healthy balance of sun and rain is typically a plus for our portfolio of crops and the communities that eat them.”
Aren’t we all? The sad thing is though that it’ll still be a generation(at least) behind the competition.
ok boomer
Let’s see how much capable the new system is once they revealed this thing.
