Microsoft’s Xbox business update is on the same day as a rumoured Nintendo Direct

Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch ((OLED Model)

Microsoft announced that they are holding an Xbox business meeting via the official Xbox podcast on Thursday in an effort to put an end to the rumours of multiple Xbox games coming to other platforms, including the Nintendo Switch. The Verge’s Tom Warren says that the Xbox event will take place on the same day as a rumoured Nintendo Direct presentation, where we would likely see both Pentiment and Hi-Fi Rush announced for Nintendo’s current platform. Nintendo has yet to announce a Nintendo Direct or a Partner Direct.

    1. Leaks also suggested that MS had a Portable system in the works. Nintendos successor is rumored to be revealed this year, and announced fairly soon. This is a WILD take, but what if MS and Nintendo partnered up?, it would break the internet! Of course it’s an almost impossible dream, but just imagine Nintendo making games on XBOX level hardware?! Not to mention all those IP’s in a single place!

      1. You’re getting carried away here… Nintendo will never partner with a competitor to develop a platform or make games outside of their own platform
The only possibility is that Microsoft is developing on Nintendo consoles, which breaks the rumor about their “portable console”Or: none of this is true and that it is, once again, a gamer’s fantasy

        1. Oh of course I know, but never say never. Remember, we also thought Nintendo would never do Mobile because of Iwata’s stance, now Pokemon Go is one of the biggest things on the mobile market. Again, this is a fools dream, but let me dream dammit! 😂

      2. That’s a little too optimistic.
I think it’ll be Microsoft going into more detail about the Switch versions of Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves, maybe even saying about exclusive content on each platform, so maybe something like a warp pipe in Sea of Thieves that lead you to a Mario inspired dungeon with like Mario Coins or Hi-Fi Rush could include some Super Mario Wonder music.

Just something simple rather than just a whole new console.
I’d love to see Microsoft and Nintendo make like an Xbox-Level Switch successor similar to like how the Steam Deck is just a slightly stronger PS4-Level system, but I can see Nintendo just teasing a full reveal of their hardware sometime before March.

      3. I remember being clowned for even theorizing about a portable Xbox console one or two years ago by a bunch of users on this site, and now it’s a popular rumor going around. Figures :I

        1. Yeah, the users on this site tends to lean hard on the Xbox hate, now a lot less than before but you still see it from time to time. So I do believe you. An XBOX handheld would be a day one for me though, that’s for sure.

          1. I call people who get like this an Nintendrone. I don’t like the Xbox brand either due to personal experience, but there’s no sense in getting territorial over it.

      4. I’d be happy with just Ninty having Micros help with their systems’ online infrastructures. I think I suggested this once before a long while back. Most likely b4 my marriage ended in 2020. But it could have been after. 🤷

  1. Probably to go into more details about Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush on the Nintendo Switch, the Direct will likely show them off and Microsoft goes into more detail later on.

    That’s how I see it

    1. I have a feeling someone mixed up the Xbox Podcast with a Nintendo Direct because it mentions games coming to Switch, which is probably Switch versions of HiFi Rush and Sea of Thieves.

We have to find out after Valentine’s Day to see if Nintendo really does love their fans or not
