Grubb: Nintendo Direct apparently postponed due to Xbox announcements

Jeff Grubb, who has proclaimed that a Nintendo Direct is happening in the middle of February, has posted on X to say that he has heard that the event has been postponed due to the upcoming Xbox podcast this evening. The event, which features Phil Spencer and other key figures, will discuss the future of Xbox. He remains certain that the Direct was meant to take in the middle of February. As always this is just a rumour, so please take it with a grain of salt.

  1. People got a lot of time on their hands. It’ll happen when it happens and actual leaks will drop like 8 hours before the airing.

  2. Alternatively, there was never going to be a direct like last week and Jeff is just covering up so he can look more credible.

    1. Nintendo will do whatever Nintendo wants. They don’t play the same game as the others:as it has been the case for well over 30 years at this point

  3. Fook all this. Nintendo will do what Nintendo does, and reveal whatever they want whenever they want. Look at Switch, dropping it on youtube in October!

  4. Something to note: A company cannot just move announcements like that, when they want to or because of minor external events.

They have other companies waiting for their games to be announced for their platform and other agreements.

Most likely there was never a Direct planned for today in the first place.

  5. Nintendo doesn’t want to share headline space with Microsoft and it’s well within their right to move the date if it means getting more spotlight.

  6. What was I saying… This puppet made a mistake so he tries to justify himself… For your information, a live broadcast is recorded in advance so WHY postpone it following a competitor’s announcements? it doesn’t make any sense…
