It doesn’t seem long since the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection from Konami launched on the Nintendo Switch and other platforms, but it is seemingly being delisted on Steam in Japan. It is not abundantly clear why the title is being delisted, but it is presumed that licensing rights could be to blame. Thankfully this seems to be Japan at the moment, but other regions could be soon to follow.
Japan: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection delisted this month

The Cowabunga collection will be delisted on Friday March 29th 2024 in JPN, Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s discontinued in the west because of licensing like TMNT Made in Manhattan. You can’t get Made in Manhattan from digital storefronts, but you can still get it physically.

The digital media future and its consequences
I don’t know if this game even got a physical release in Japan. If it didn’t, that makes this a lot worse.
Glad I got my physical version
I was gonna defend physical media on this but let’s be honest, these companies are sabotaging physical releases regardless of how many physical sales they get.
Physical games never have the full patches on the disc, in many cases are unplayable unless you download a day one patch like Hogwarts Legacy and many MANY other recent games.
Even when you spend extra on deluxe/special/collector’s editions they always seem to be missing content that’s included with digital editions of the same status, and in many cases missing the actual physical games from the physical editions themselves (looking at you Horizon Forbidden west collector’s edition)!
These physical releases are always broken and unplayable, but for some reason these companies have it in their mind that games should cost over $70 when they can’t even deliver a finished product that doesn’t require a day one patch.
I hope people stop pre ordering games, especially digital games!
The only reason pre orders were ever needed was due to the most popular PHYSICAL games not printing enough copies and always being sold out on release.
You can’t sell out of digital copies, yet idiots still buy them before release.
As much as I prefer physical over digital, I’m not blind to the problems physical media is facing.
Thank God for emulation and screw Nintendo for trying to erase it!
