Best-selling Nintendo Switch games so far and new updated sales numbers

Nintendo has released updated software sales figures for its best-selling Nintendo Switch games and there’s no change at the top spot for the immensely fun Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which has shifted 62.90 million copies since 2017, Nintendo’s kart racer is following by the charming Animal Crossing: New Horizons at No.2 and Super Smash. Bros. Ultimate at No.3. The Kyoto-based company also provided sales figures for two recently released games, which are the engrossing Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (1.76M) and the spooky Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD (1.19M).

Best-selling Nintendo Switch games:

  1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 62.90M
  2. Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 45.85M
  3. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 34.66M
  4. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 32.05M
  5. Super Mario Odyssey – 28.21M
  6. Pokemon Sword & Shield – 26.35M
  7. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet – 25.29M
  8. Super Mario Party – 20.84M
  9. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – 20.80M
  10. New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – 17.61M

Recently Released Titles:

  • Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door – 1.76M
  • Luigis Mansion 2 HD – 1.19M

      FE3H is the bestselling game in the series, at more than 4M copies. Engage sold less than half that, but still plenty to be profitable. I’m sure they’ll continue making these games, and hopefully the Engage figures taught Nintendo a stern lesson about the importance fans place on story and character.

        I mean, I 1000% get it, but that’s still such an impressively high number, I’m shocked whenever I see it get higher…

        I wonder if during the Switch 2’s lifetime, since it’ll (almost guaranteed tbh) be backwards compatible, we’ll see it hit 100M sales…

    1. I wouldn’t say that it’s better than paper Mario but it is definitely way better than princess peach showtime.

      1. That’s a solid number for TTYD, almost eclipsing the lifetime sales of the original in about a month’s time. Gives us classic Paper Mario fans hope for a direct sequel.
