Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii reconfirms Dragon Quest 12 is alive and well

It has been a very long time since we’ve heard or seen anything about Dragon Quest 12 from Square Enix. The project was announced as being in development back in 2021 as part of the long-running series 35th anniversary celebration. Speaking to Gamereactor, Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii told the site, it is still in development and that he can not say anything more about the game though he is “making it” and “putting lots of work into it.” He also said when asked “Yes, I believe it could be compatible with Switch 2 as well”,

“Yes, indeed, I can’t say anything, I apologize,” he said. “I am making it, putting lots of work into it… I can only say that the next work will be great too, [I’m] working really hard. Please look forward to it is the only thing I can say.”

  1. Anonymous Skywalker

I would like them to keep cooking until it is ready to be shown and be out when they polish and optimized the game. Unlikely it will come to Switch but I can see it coming to Switch 2.

  2. Pls just show images or trailers already.. I want to know what will be changed from the dragon quest standards…
