The first announcement at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025 was for something no one expected, Bubsy 4D. Developed by Fabraz and published by Atari, the successor to one of the most infamous video games of the 90s (Bubsy 3D) will launch for both Switch and Switch 2 “soon,” though an exact release date has not yet be shared. Join our old pal as he pounces from planet to planet taking on the Woolies and a deadly new foe, the BaaBots. Check out the official announcement trailer below.
Bubsy 4D announced for Switch and Switch 2

Finally he has a voice actor but he is not wearing shoes in the modern era.
I genuinely don’t understand how this franchise is still going.
Atari bought him they finally have a mascot after I don’t know how many years. So they’re going to invest also the 2D games he had a few years ago did well. Platformers especially 3D platformers have their market.
Atari needs to start buying up again. Ziggurat Games right there, Interplay, Krome Studios put this money into a new Ty game, Throwback Entertainment. This actually might be fun heard the last 2 games they weirdly ignore in this trailer were ok and now he’s actually in 3D. Many wish JonTron would play them.
We need a proper Ty 4 building upon what the previous games did good. Honestly Atari might as well buy Croc too and Gex. Bloodrayne if they got Ziggurat would be great not sure who would make it unless they could get Eidos.
The studio behind Demon Tides is making this. Curious what else Atari is making. For a lot of people this is what they wanted for a 3D platformer.
