Nintendo Direct announced for Friday

Nintendo has confirmed this afternoon that a Nintendo Direct presentation will be happening on Friday. Details are scarce on what it contains, but let’s hope for some surprise announcements.

“Tune in on Friday, September 12th at 15:00 CEST (14:00 BST) for a new Nintendo Direct, featuring roughly 60 minutes of information on upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games.”

Thanks to Cian for sending in the news tip.

  1. Surprise me!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

This isn’t just big it’s huge, this is what we’ve been waiting for since June last year. Finally the first proper switch 2 direct, we can expect everything, Mario 40th, metroid prime 4 release date, new NSO games, and even zelda news, blow up your party balloons and call your mates round, this is the ultimate time to be a Nintendo fan!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

      1. Yeah not trying to be “that guy” but Nintendo wouldn’t do that. I personally don’t have anything against that, but they’d alienate a HUGE portion of their fan base in doing so. Having LGBTQIA+ stuff in T and M games is one thing (like Fire Emblem), but having it in a kids / family game is just a poor business decision on their part.

    1. Maybe Silk Song release date will be revealed?! For real though, let’s get an MP4 release date along with plans for a stand alone MP4 direct. November and December are kinda filling up, no idea where they would put MP4 this year, if it is ready. Could also see it as a January release.

  2. Well, the reality is that games made by third party appears to be to challenging for the platform (to all platforms in reality) so i Hope that Nintendo understands that first and second party have to – again – show the way. Imagine having a new Star Fox, or shorter games (also less expensive) like a Punch out game.

  3. Sure would be nice to get some brand new native Switch 2 games announced and not just addons for existing Switch 1 games. I got the Kirby DLC and I love the Forgotten Land game. But, we need something else in a series. Brand new Zelda, brand new Fire Emblem, brand new Animal Crossing, brand new Mario, etc.
