Rumour: Duskbloods has been in works since 2019 and tested more than any Fromsoft game

A Chinese video game journalist who correctly leaked Elden Ring information before the game launched has stated that The Duskbloods has been in development at Fromsoft since 2019. He went on to say that the game has been playtested internally by the developers more than any Fromsoft game to date and that the multiplayer game’s gameplay is so innovative that it could influence future Fromsoft games. He also said that the company wants to get the Elden Ring Nightreign DLC out before extensively marketing The Duskbloods. If this is correct then we should get a new The Duskbloods trailer at The Game Awards 2025.

“From what I know, The Duskbloods was greenlit even earlier than the marketing period for Sekiro’s release. It is the FromSoftware title that has spent the longest time purely on gameplay prototyping and validation among all of their games so far. Although it’s PVE and PVP, it reportedly contains many innovative elements the team themselves are very proud of.”

      1. Just some basic game development cycle stuff. Essentially, if Duskbloods has been in the pipeline for so long, it isn’t too outlandish to assume that the next game by FromSoft could have development done for it already. Whether that’s a new Soulsborne game or something else is another question.

  1. Disappointing its not a normal single player adventure, this is for people who like Pupg and I don’t think they will like medieval setting.
