Dispatch on Nintendo Switch is censored

The well-received superhero workplace comedy Dispatch is censored on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 and the developers say they worked alongside Nintendo to ensure it met the Kyoto-based company’s criteria. The developers say that the “core narrative and gameplay experience remains identical” in Dispatch, but clearly there have been some omissions from the PlayStation 5 and PC versions.

“Different platforms have different content criteria, and submissions are evaluated individually,” AdHoc said in a statement shared with Eurogamer, ahead of Dispatch’s Switch release. The studio assured, though, that the censorship on Nintendo’s consoles does not affect Dispatch’s overall narrative experience or gameplay.

“We worked with Nintendo to ensure the content within the title met the criteria to release on their platforms, but the core narrative and gameplay experience remains identical to the original release,” the developer stated.

    1. Haven’t played either for various reasons but does Cyberpunk have sex scenes? My assumption would be the sex scenes could be the issue if not then it is weird?

      1. It does. Cyberpunk has several sex scenes, full frontal nudity in places, ads that moan in your ear, middle fingers and enough cursing to make Satan blush.

  1. Weird. “Game” is trash if you can call it that. Just bad millennial writing meets parody superhero and 80s music. Who actually thought this was good? Moistshitikal is in it too 🤮

      1. No this is not for actual men. Its for millennial soytards and women especially women they loved it and streamers because it’s not game in terms of gameplay just a interactive movie and super cringe trying to be edgy weird given the people that make it say everything is racist but this game just weird the black guy talks super stereotypical Jeffrey Wright can not complain again after taking this role same for whoever voiced the polynesian guy. Allanah pearce was awful, Moist is bad but she is worse and the game is making her feel herself more. If you are curious watch cutscenes online.

        1. I don’t hatewatch things. I really just have no interest in playing or watching it. I just wanted to say what I heard about it because it seemed accurate (and funny) from my outsider’s perspective.

          1. Yeah it’s really just a VA circle jerk like CriticalRole is. I am shocked they got as big as they did like them playing table top RPG’s became that big they got a video game and 2 cartoons with bigger name actors plus influencer actors.

    1. Moist cries over AI but supports glorb and took money to shill AI games or plays them Marvel Rivals, Street Fighter 6, AC Shadows, Monster Hunter Wilds, Arc Raiders, Battlefield 6, and others.

      1. No it was 40+ year old voice actors in California middle schoolers are probably more capable and mature than them these people are stunted adults it is concerning

  2. The fact they can’t even be bothered to tell what’s changed makes me think it’s less of a Nintendo thing and more of an AdHoc thing. As people stated, there are plenty of worse games (regarding risky content) on Nintendo platforms, be it excessive violence and gore (lol RE:9 is coming next month), sensual/sexual content (Cyberpunk 2077, Lollipop Chainsaw, etc) and sensitive content in general.

    1. I can’t remember the name of the game, but earlier in the Switch life I was downloading demos and tried some kind of noir story game and it had nudity.

Heck, look up Shuttlecock-H. It’s literal hentai you can download on the eshop.

  3. Paniccollectionpaige22

I brought gta 3, saints row 3, bayonetta, gal gun 2 and various puzzle games with hentai in the name. I won’t buy this game because I got conformation that it is censored.

@LulLmaoo. I brought them digital. I never share my Nintendo switch with other people. The only time I even interacted with other players is for pokemon shield surprise trades.

  4. Thanks for the heads up. I was gonna buy Dispatch next week but now I can save money for my joycon replacement. Censoring a video game is like telling a man he can’t eat steak because the babies would get jealous.

  5. Nintendo is going backwards and hurting its own brand. It is only a matter of time whether the company goes broke or changes course. Either way, I will not support this cause. Seems like my Switch 2 will cover dust.
