Pokemon Pokopia director says game has Minecraft-style “cloud” servers that don’t require the host to be online

Pokemon Pokopia seems to be shaping up to be something special according to some of the previews that have appeared. One thing that will please potential players of the game is that the director has stated that Pokemon Pokopia will feature Minecraft inspired cloud servers meaning that you can connect to these even if the host goes offline, leaving you to continue building at your own pace. Pokemon Pokopia’s game director, Takuto Edagawa, also said that the immersive project is developer Omega Force’s largest to date.

“I can’t give you a specific number of people, but this is the largest number of people involved in any title developed by ω-Force (Omega Force)* to date.” Moreover, creative work on the game wasn’t one-sided with Game Freak and The Pokémon Company only approving submissions; new Pokémon designs were created and iterated on together all the way through.

“Even if the host (island owner) isn’t playing, everyone can join in and play.”

  1. In games like Pokémon Pokopia using cloud-based servers sounds great because players won’t depend on a host being online, similar to Minecraft worlds. It also makes multiplayer smoother for friends who join at different times. For players who like personalizing their experience, even choosing a unique in-game name or username can make it more fun. A tool like https://stylishnamees.com/ can help create stylish gaming names for profiles and communities without any effort.
