One of the big reveals at this weekend’s Summer Game Fest was the unveiling of the latest and final part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. Officially titled Final Fantasy Revelation, the game promises to be a constant-packed and visually stunning experience on all platforms, when it launches next spring. More information was shared in a new interview which you can read highlights of below.

- Landing the Highwind anywhere is tough to pull off so they decided on parachuting in.
- You get the Highwind quite early in the game
- You can fly around the entire world freely
- If you reach the end of the world you end up on the other side like a globe.
- All areas return from Rebirth, including Gongaga but won’t be exactly the same
- You have a single Chocobo companion that levels up
- Main story is order is predetermined, but not the side content
- You can explore the entire map once you get the Highwind
- Open world scale has leveled up from Rebirth
- Vincent can switch between Beast mode and normal mode at the press of a button
- Cid specializes in aerial combat
- More combination attacks between different characters
- New “FITS” system allows characters to change jobs, such as “Black Mage”, with new outfits.
- All FITS are unlocked from the start
- There are 4 FITS for each character
- FITS have a skill tree
- Key concept for the game is “Resolve”
- Cloud and co resolve the face the final battle
- The devs resolve to conclude the FF7 Remake series well
- Zack will be a more important part of the game than in Rebirth
- Wutai is fully depicted
- Rocket Town will appear towards the end
- Underwater world will appear
- Knights of the Round will appear
- Won’t have the same character affection system as Rebirth due to the difference in story
- No multiple endings
- Want a single ending that can say “This is the conclusion of the FF7 Remake series”
- Side content will vary based on each player’s choices
- Minigames will have easy and normal modes
- New option to skip minigames
