Stellar Blade publisher hints that Blood Rain might be unlikely on Switch 2

One of the biggest surprises at Summer Game Fest was the unveiling of the new Stellar Blade game, Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, which looked absolutely fantastic. We now know that the original action-packed Stellar Blade game is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 and many fans have been wondering whether the technically impressive Stellar Blade: Blood Rain will ever grace the system. Shift Up publisher Edo has responded to a fan asking the very same question and replied by asking whether Grand Theft Auto VI would run on a Nintendo Switch 2 system, which seems reasonably unlikely. Still, the game is a long way off, so we can’t completely count it out.

Thanks to Anthony for sending in the news tip!

  1. Lol oh please. Just watched the trailer. It looks closer to cyberpunk than it does to GTA6. S2 can run it and if Stellar Blade 1 has good enough numbers I think they’ll find a way to bring it over

  2. Lol yeah it’ll definitely come. They talked about bringing 2 multiplatform before 1’s Switch 2 port anyways, and it’s a no-brainer if it sells good on Switch 2 (which I think it absolutely will)

  3. He didn’t need to be so rude about it, he couldn’t just said there are no plans for a Switch 2 release at this time. I agree with the above comment that if the first game sells well on Switch 2 they’ll find a way to port it over

  4. Remember when the ff7 remake/rebirth developers were like, “This can’t run on the switch 2, it’s too complicated!” and then ported rebirth 5 months after remake? Usually when the first game in a franchise comes the switch 2, it’s almost confirmed that the sequel will come to the switch 2.

    1. Yeah, considering Revelation, Code Veronica Remake, and countless other brand new AAA games are coming to Switch 2— not to mention Elden Ring, FFVII Remake & Rebirth, and the technical marvel Cyberpunk 2077 turned out to be…. it’s pretty much a done deal. I wouldn’t take 1 guy’s word on it (even if he’s in charge of publishing, not to knowledgeable on deets) when the Shift Up CEO himself seems crazy dedicated to getting the series on the platform in the platform expansion he’s shooting for. Capcom didn’t think Village would work either until they tried it, and Requiem is downright beautiful and gorgeous. I’d say leave this one to the actual developers, following the CEO’s orders LOL

  5. The game doesn’t look any better than Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2, and that game is on the cartridge and runs pretty well.
Also, can the Xbox Series S play GTA VI? Yes? Well you just answered your question
