Pokémon Pokopia is a relaxing life simulation game devoted to crafting, creating and building. Pokémon and people once lived happily together, but the world has withered and the humans are gone. The only remaining resident appears to be a lone Tangrowth. After waking from a long slumber, a peculiar Ditto decides to restore the desolate land using its transformation skills and its surprising new crafting abilities.

Additionally, the Pokémon Pokopia experience continues under the sea with a free update arriving this August. Players will be able to explore the ocean floor using the new move Dive, to plant grass, build structures, and create their own underwater towns alongside Pokémon. The Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass paid DLC is also on the way, introducing three parts of additional content. Part 1 of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass paid DLC, Bubbly Basin, will launch this August and invite players to Dive into a new underwater town filled with new furniture, outfits, and Pokémon friends.

In hindsight, their insane design choice to eliminate color or expression in the joycons should have been a foreshadowing of their unwillingness to release custom models. Realistically, they clearly see the S1 as juvenile and positioned the S2 to have a “serious” image. They seem to be dispensing with their family oriented business model and are distancing themselves from whimsical elements. I can’t count how many times I have heard Sony guys dismiss the Switch as a toy.
