Dusk Golem: Capcom is looking to make its Resident Evil DLC much more meaty

Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem has stated that he has heard Capcom is looking to make future Resident Evil DLC much more substantial than it has previously. The team is looking to add both “length & ambition” to its Resident Evil downloadable content to help plug the gap between the length of time for players have to wait for a new Resident Evil game. Here’s what he has heard:

Capcom is investing into doing more lengthy story DLC in the future of RE, of the length & ambition as Separate Ways/Shadow of Rose, for both Requiem & future RE titles. There’s a few reasons for this. I also keep hearing that Resident Evil Requiem’s DLC is going to release after Veronica Remake releases.

Capcom’s had an issue in recent years in the RE Engine era with side games, like Revelations, the Chronicles, or Survivor games. Apparently this is something of a temporary solution Capcom is employing, investing in longer story DLCs for their RE games which work as smaller, more experimental “side stories” for the franchise. It also will help fill their schedule of releases in-between the bigger RE games.

  1. DLC planned for future games that haven’t came out yet. As great as Requiem is, it was very short. All of those expensive Pokémon games with $30+ DLC’s that you have yo purchase twice for each game?, The DS and GBA Pokémon games had huge post game content. Niw the new ones don’t because they purposely keep it out to sell to you all and it’s still not even as good. Its Crazy that Modern Pokémon games on modern hardware cant even come cloe to a GBA or DS game.

    1. Meaty sounds likes 20+ dollars for content to end up like shadow of rose, or RE4 Ada campaign. Gonna be honest should have just told the full story from the start. Give more grace segments, better endings. Ada or claire or even Chris interacting with Leon or Grace. But no. Charge the fans for that possibility. No body knows what the dlc will be, but from previous experience not worth day 1.
