The annual the Game Awards is unsurprisingly set to return this December according to the host of the event, Geoff Keighley. This year’s event will take place on 10th December and will be live from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. Expect some grand reveals, plenty of ads, and hopefully some nice surprises. More details and ticket information will be disclosed this autumn.
I think gtA6 will come out too late to be considered for many awards. It launches only a couple of weeks before the game awards, so the team that decides what games wins might not have time to nominate it. I truly wonder what will win game of the year. Splatoon raiders and pokopia feel like they have a decent shot here, maybe crimson desert and wolverine.
If you think Splatoon Raiders or Pokopia have any chance you have not paid attention to any previous winners. It will be whatever Geoff Keighley thinks is cool and will be either a souls like or some interactive movie.

I think maybe a new mainline Mario game could be announced at the show. Maybe Sony and Microsoft might announce one of their new best IPs games.
I don’t think Nintendo has announced that much at any place other than their own press conferences. I think the biggest thing they have revealed was joker for smash at the game awards. But who knows, they could reveal the next mainline Mario game. But I almost guarantee that we will see the next mainline sonic there.

I completely forgot about that. That probably was the biggest announcement of all time, old monkey confirmed in donkey kong was so hype.
I remember when this thing was just Geoff and Joel McHale sitting on a couch with the No Man’s Sky dev after announcing the game. Now it’s all “Hollywood” and about Kojima or rabbi Bill Clinton
Sonic racing deserved to win last year, everyone cheered for it because they were sick of MK being the same junk over and over.. but as usual the Nintendo glazing is too strong.
We were sick of mario kart 8, not mario kart in general. it took 11 grueling years for a new entry, even though 8 recieved a ton of content throughout those years, I was still playing the same game from 2014. Sonic racing crossworlds is simply more sonic racing. But what I don’t get hate for is mario kart world being considered the “same”. that game is one of the most unique kart racing sequels ever, it changes so much, some of the better, some for the worse.
I love mario kart world, the worst part about it is the online mode and battle mode. The intermission tracks are annoying in online mode, but I just join discord servers so that no intermission tracks get picked.
The battle mode is my biggest problem with the game in general, it’s just not that fun.
I even like the free roam mode. I like putting on a youtube video in the background and just driving around and collecting stuff.
