Another cast member for the upcoming The Legend of Zelda movie has been revealed ahead of an official announcement by Nintendo. Movie rumour monger DanielRPK is reporting that Samara Weaving has been reportedly cast as Goddess Hylia in The Legend of Zelda movie. The Australian actress and model has appeared in several movies as well as popular soap opera Home and Away.

I have no complaints because Samara is gorgeous, and she has a slight otherworldly look to her. Gods & goddesses should honestly be played more often by people with such a look.
I’m just curious how they’re gonna pull it off, though, since Hylia sacrificed her godhood to become the mortal Zelda. Is Zelda gonna have flashbacks of her time as Hylia? Is the movie gonna start off in Hylia’s era then do some centuries or millenia time skip?
Anya woulda been a good Hylia, too, since she’s got a similar look to Samara. Too bad she’s Princess Peach.

They haven’t been referenced at all since Minish Cap (by name, at least), but they fill a different role. Those three created the world and nature, people, and the Triforce. Hylia came afterwards to guard the world and Triforce. Skyward Sword references Hylia came after the “old gods” (who created the world).
The existence of Hylia does not retcon the other three and vice versa 😍

Where did you get it being a oot adaption? Zelda was largely out of the story hiding as sheik…. and wearing pink and white. Movie zelda looks more based on botw
