Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda has revealed that the highly anticipated Pokemon Black & White for the Nintendo DS won’t include any additional functionality when the game is played on Nintendo’s forthcoming 3DS console.

“Regarding the 3DS functionality…they really want everyone to be able to play the game so they obviously designed it for the Nintendo DS system so everyone can utilize the C-gear functionality for improved communications with nearby players.”

“There’s nothing designed specifically to take advantage of the Nintendo 3DS but the cartridge will obviously work with the 3DS.”

Nintendo: EA Admits That It Has Milked Its Franchises Too Much

EA’s CEO John Riccitiello has openly admitted that releasing sequel after sequel has ultimately damaged EA’s overall portfolio.

“If you go back seven years, we were the leader. And we dropped the ball. Our IP deteriorated, our costs went up, and we didn’t really have an answer for the rise of digital… Need For Speed ended up flat on its back. That annual sequel thing got to us. That was a very tough business run. We just didn’t have the portfolio.”

Nintendo 3DS: Nintendo 3DS Developers Need To “Stop Slacking” Say Capcom

Yoshinori Ono, the producer behind Super Street Fighter IV 3D, believes that certain developers should stop moaning about the capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS and instead should start embracing the machines full potential.

“I’ve heard some pessimistic comments on 3DS capabilities before the launch from some game creators but they obviously have not seen Super Street Fighter IV 3D or Resident Evil games on the 3DS.”

“When I first had the chance to see 3DS I went over the moon three times because of the 3D vision, hardware spec and the extensive network functions.”

“With Super Street Fighter IV 3D you will see the best yet graphics on a handheld with specially tuned shaders and effects. I also think those game creators should stop slacking and just start making good games rather than whine about the tools given!”

Nintendo 3DS: Zelda Ocarina Of Time 3D Will Remain Faithful To The Original

Rob Saunders, Head of Communications for Nintendo UK has told online gaming publication Gamingbolt that the eagerly awaited Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D will remain faithful to the Nintendo 64 original.

“I think it really depends on what that game looked like first time round.”

“Take, for example, Super Mario Bros on the NES. If you were to bring that straight out again today I think a lot of people would scratch their heads. However, with the New Super Mario Bros: You can tweak it, you can update it, you can sharpen it and you can change the character models, the environment. But the core mechanic of that 2D side-scrolling game play remains the same.”

“So with some games, like Ocarina, you’ll see a much more ‘faithful’ reproduction but I think with some other games you need to tweak them and bring them into the modern era, so to speak, so it depends on the title.”
