British gaming publication NGamer recently had the chance to test out the Nintendo 3DS battery to see exactly how long it lasts.
The publication left the Nintendo 3DS on at maximum brightness and the highest 3D setting with wireless turned off and managed to get a solid four hours out of the device.

Can not wait to get my hands on one at launch, just still unsure of what game to buy with it
Not bad. I’ll still mostly use it on Minimum Brightness like with my DS Lite. It seemingly lasts forever then.
four hours on full…I’ll be happy if I manage to play 2 hours straight on a day!

…… Were they actually doing anything while they had it or did they just let it sit there. Surely processing has to come into the equation.
The processor does consume some power, but the more potent power killers are the back-light, Wireless connectivity (Wifi, bluetooth, etc.), and of course, 3D.
Good enough, did they mention which game?

Well, that’s better than I thought it would be. I’m still waiting to get one ’til the good games come out. I can be patient. (I’m still pissin’ myself with anticipation, however…)
Well that’s ok news. I don’t play with my DS much unless the game is VERY GOOD and ADDICTING.
But I’m waiting on buying the 3DS because I want to buy it with a good game.
My only issue about the battery is that apparently the 3DS does not come with an AC Adapter (as far as I know anyway). So After 4 hours I am then unable to use the 3DS until it has finished charging on the ‘dock’, which can take a few hours. This would be the first gaming system for me which has a restriction on it’s use… I don’t like that.
you can get the ac adapter now if you want…its the same ac adaper that the dsi and dsixl uses, but im not sure if it comes with the 3ds…
The 3DS comes with an AC adapter, no doubt.
