F-Zero Revealed For Nintendo Land

Nintendo Land was announced during Nintendo’s E3 2012 presentation. The game’s setting is a theme park, which features several attractions that are inspired by iconic Nintendo franchises. The latest announced franchise is F-Zero, which hasn’t been on a home console since 2003. F-Zero will finally make a come-back (technically) when Nintendo Land releases on Wii U later this year.

    1. Yeah…
This title made me VERY happy for a second, and then VERY sad.
      I thought it was a real title (;__;) :( :(

  1. Nintendo land better be included with the Wii U, kind of like the Welcome Park on the Vita. BTW I’ve never played a 3D F-Zero. Are they better than the 2D ones?

    1. Yes totally.
      F-Zero X is good.

F-Zero GX is amazing, among the hardest games on the gamecube and incredibly detailed scenery-wise.

      The gameplay is fantastic too.

  2. So, I’m guessing it’s the ship symbol? Thought that’d be Star Fox but I guess Nintendo wants to erase Star Fox from their history or something.

    1. Doubt that, considering we just got Star Fox 64 3D last than a year ago, and Retro Studios said, “We’re doing a barrel roll of a different kind,” plus all the Star Fox characters in the SSBBrawl roster.

  3. At first glance all I read was “F-Zero revealed for Nintendo” and I nearly had a heart attack and said “YES! NINTENDO FINALLY DROPPED THE BOMB!” and then I read it again, and realized it’s not coming and it’s only going to be a simple mini-game ;(

  4. I hope the commitment of this game is to show newbies some Nintendo franchises and after they know something about them, Nintendo can make actual games of all these (or at least a couple) atracttions included on Nintendo Land.

    1. But in order for that to happen effectively, Nintendo Land will have to come free like Wii Sports or something.

  5. I know Nintendo meant well with this compilation, but given the context of this year’s presentation it’s stomping on the dreams of people who wanted a new F-Zero/Yoshi/Star Fox/etc. game. I’m sure it will be fun come release, but it stings pretty badly now.

  6. The point of this game is to expose new comers to the big Nintendo franchises in a casual way so actually this is a set up to future games in these franchises. Like why would they put in F-Zero in if they never plan to make a new one? To be honest this does look fun but it needs to come with Wii U to succeed cause it’s not worth $50.

    1. Exactly. This seems like the ‘Wii Sports’ of the Wii U – something that introduces gameplay concepts for others to expand upon, but not a big enough game to warrant being sold separately.

    2. My thoughts on this, as well. I can’t help but to think this means another F-Zero game in the future.

    3. Why is Ness and Lucas included in Smash Bros if they never intend to make a new one? Because they can be pricks, that’s why.

      1. It’s Sakurai’s choice.
After Marth and Roy’s inclusion in Melee, there was huge fan demand to localize the Fire Emblem games. He probably includes the Mother/EarthBound characters because he’s still a fan, and he wants there to be fan demand again to localize or even make a new M/EB game. Sakurai realizes he has power like this. The simple inclusion of Pit lead to insane popularity and is probably the only reason the Kid Icarus IP was revived.

  7. I was hoping for an F-zero game… and this is what they give me…
Thanks for the kick in the balls, Nintendo. xD

    1. Hey, you never know. For all we know, this “minigame” might be an all-out F-Zero game. Doubt it, but maybe.

  8. This will probably come with wii u . ( nintendo land) personally i like this idea better than wii sports even though it was fun i might have like 14 hours total playtime on it since 2006 to be honest. But having a taste of some ideas wii u will bring to the world i think is a much better way to slowly slip into a full fledged fzero game

  9. Disappointing show overall because lack of new games not even an announcement (besides nintendo land). Seriously nothing from Retro Studios?

  10. NOT GOOD ENOUGH! I want a full-fledged game with a ton of tracks, all the machines and pilots since X, super-fast-paced action, and unparalleled online play (hopefully with at least 16 players)! It’s been too long since GX and it’s time us fans got another well-deserved helping!

  11. I have a simple question and I do want you all to answer it… on Nintendo Land, one can play all of those games for free? or we have to pay…. I have this doubt

  12. Man, its like Nintendo knows everyone wants another F-zero game, but instead of giving us another you know, AN ACTUAL FUCKING GAME, they give one little mini-game in a bland mini-game collection

  14. at least something of the rumor was confirm im just waiting for ssb.4 n star fox to be confirmed hopefully tomorrow

  15. Looks pretty cool. I’m liking the concept of Mario Land more and more. They obviously have high hopes for it. They better pack it with the system though. Leave luck to heaven.

  16. Will they announce any new Wii U games tomorrow? I was really hoping for Metroid Prime 4, StarFox or F-Zero.
