The latest edition of MCV magazine has revealed that Nintendo UK will begin broadcasting their Wii U television campaign on October 17th. The first 60 second airing will be shown during the popular TV show The X factor. Nintendo UK marketing and PR director has told the magazine that Nintendo UK will be spending the same amount on advertising as they did when they launched the original Wii console in 2006.
Nice. They should throw a few commmercials on some kids chanels and family friendly channels to gain more audience, though

The ‘Wii would like to play’ commercials that sold so many people on the Wii didn’t start until 5 days before the Wii’s American release.
This is obviously a bit earlier in comparison.

I said , I don’t know if it’s true or not , but for Nintendo to write ”Full 1080p HD” on their site is very misleading if it supports upscaled 1080p – that should be illegal .
In 2012 it should say on the box (Even for ps3 and 360) what the game is rendered at and what upscaled resoloutions it supports . It’s important , the hardcore market are interested in that shit.

Hmmmmm . To make wiiu a success in UK they need to throw everything they have got at the tv space especialy during X factor , like 8 Million people watch it when its on .
They need a few adverts like one with Nintendo land , one for Zombiu , one for NSMBU , one for Just dance and shit like that , and others for AC3 , Batman and other games like that :) .
People in UK are suckers for TV advertising – so the early success of wiiu rely’s on the TV space especialy becuase its just before christmas.

advertising wiiu during shows like X factor has the potential to shift a LOT of units . They need to put it all over the tv in UK , simple.
They should definitely spread their ads around on different channels, like advertise games like Wonderful 101 on CBBC, ZombiU on late night stuff etc, to make sure the system gets popular.

When will it start in North America? The only thing i’ve noticed about Wii U on TV is that at the end of the Just Dance 4 commercial it says Wii U in the corner.

I think there will be something similar happening in the U.S as well as the Burger King promo And last I checked “What will you play next?” Was the slogan around E3 it was “Together Better” or something like that. I heard Wii U and Furby would be on the front page of Toys R Us big toybook here in the U.S this year (not sure if true or not)
