Nintendo Confirms Fairy-Type Pokémon

Sylveon

Nintendo has revealed a brand-new Pokémon type. Although it was rumored for a couple of months, during today’s E3 Nintendo Direct presentation, the company confirmed that Fairy-type Pokemon do exist and that they will make their debut in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y – both of which are the first games in the core Pokémon series to appear on Nintendo 3DS and will be released worldwide on October 12th.

  1. well I for one can’t see shit on the stream: constant buffering, their e3 site is all messed up, ustream window is like 300pixels wide… will just wait til it’s over and watch the VOD <.<

  2. Since they’re doing this, why not take the opportunity to change Gyaridos from water/flying to something more appropriate like water/dragon. Or give him more flying moves like sky-attack and flying. Being part flying without the gift of flight can only work as a disadvantage going up against thunder types. And I don’t see Gyaridos as a flying beast, but more of a water dragon.

    1. Dark type’s not called dark type in Japan, where it originated.

There, it’s literally called the “evil type”, which explains why a lot of the dark type moves involve playing dirty, and explains why the fighting type, who fights for justice and honor, are super effective against it.

Therefore, calling it the “light” type to match the “dark” type doesn’t really make sense if you consider the Japanese versions to be the true canon, unless you want it to literally be named the “good” type there..
