Nintendo of America has confirmed via today’s Nintendo Direct presentation that Bravely Default will be coming to North America on February 2nd exclusively to the Nintendo 3DS. Bravely Default now introduces the Brave and Default system to the RPG formula for unprecedented strategy choices. Explore deep customization, new ways to StreetPass, and an epic story in BravelyDefault, coming 2/7/14. There will also be a collectors edition available upon release.

The sexual pandering on the cd cover gives off the vibe that the devs are insecure about their work. It’s a little disappointing. I’m having more and more difficulty standing on the claim that anime and other such japanese storytelling is not necessarily porn when it seems to be only one in several works that doesn’t have any sexual fanservice.
We can look at everything wrong with your argument… like the fact that somehow a CD cover that is nothing more than extra game art is somehow attached the insecurities of game developers. Or the fact that you somehow find it sexual where as I can point to you about 100 or so more games made in both eastern and western developers this year that are more sexual than simply a girl striking a pose while fully clothed on a CD cover art. Or the fact that the game art seems to be more of a mix of traditional European watercolor art of late 17th century and modern Japanese art. Or the fact a lot of older century art had similar poses in order to capture what they saw as “beautifulness”.
But you know, complain how a simple CD cover is going to thwart your crusade to defend the integrity of Japanese media. It’s the netherworld dood. You can do whatever you like.
I already preordered it, a glorious collector edition for a glorious game.
Question, is it Febuary 2 or 7 since there’s 2 dates? Plus where can I pre-order that Collectors Edition, I haven’t seen it on Gamestops site yet.
