What!? Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag for Wii U was one of the best games I’ve ever played. It was awesome. First game in the series I played too. Never would have been able to experience it if it weren’t for Ubisoft’s consistent support for the Wii U. I love third party games. Finally broadening my video game horizon because of the Wii U.

Donkey Kong Country outsold Nintendo’s own Link to the Past, and once the 64 came out Rare was pumping out more triple A titles than Nintendo. Even Miyamoto stated in an interview that DKC proved gamers would “settle for mediocre gameplay with nice graphics.” You think Nintendo would get rid of Retro, or Gamefreak? No chance. They just wanted to own the GameCube, which Rare would have done if they’d have been around. As for 1st parties, your argument sucks. PS has god of War, Lil Big Planet, Uncharted, Infamous, Killzone, Modnation Racers, Resistance, and I’m sure I missed some others. Microsoft has Forza, Halo, Gears of War, all of Rares IP’s (Banjo and others), Alan Wake. Even though Sony has more than Microsoft, Microsoft has Halo which is a higher seller. Now Nintendo has more, but when looking at Wii U, the 1st party titles we’ve known to love them for are pure crap selling wise. Even the almighty 3D Mario didn’t push units. Nintendo use to rely on quality titles that had the old feel but was something new. Mario 3D World was a good game, but nothing we haven’t played a million times before. As far as games go, they now focus on the past so much that it feels literally like your playing a game you’ve already played. As far as 3rd party goes, Nintendo has only themselves to blame. They could have easily made Wii U to match up to par with XB1 and PS4 power wise. Throw stones at the 3rd party companies all u want but put yourself in their shoes. When you port a game to a system that has last generation power, you gotta run it on a completely different engine and costs a heck of a lot of money to do. And also, its a waste because in the end, the number one sellers are on PS4 and XB1 anyway. Nintendos number one problem is Nintendo.
