Sonic’s 25th Anniversary Party Invites Players To ‘Check Out Future Of Sonic’

If you were following the news yesterday you will have known that Sonic’s 25th Anniversary Panel took place at this year’s SXSW. There were a few announcements including a release date for Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice on Nintendo 3DS as well as plans for  another Sonic 25th Anniversary Event on July 22nd. The description of the 25th Anniversary Party invites players to “Get an exclusive look at the future of Sonic” which presumably means that a new Sonic title could make its debut at the event. As with all things SEGA, you just never know.

  1. That like a dirty Amiibo?

And honestly at this point, who cares?

Only thing I’d be interested in is Sonic Generations 2, but I highly doubt they could pull off something as great as the original.

If they throw Sonic boom elements in there, I’m out.

    1. You do realize that sonic toy has been around since long before Amiibos came to be, right? lol

I’ve seen this dirty toy when the original Wii was around. This is nothing new to the site as Sickr back in the day was the original who run this site all by himself back in the mid 2000s.

      lol

Sickr can back me up as he’s the OG of this site himself.

      Right Sickr? ;)

      1. I remember, a few years back, the whole comment sections where nothing but Trolls… like, there where 20 of them… I’m glad its a lot better now; this site does a really good job reporting relevant news and doesn’t really need immature trolling mucking it up lol.

          1. I made an official account months ago, but I’ve been around since September of 2014, cuz I was sometimes a troll on Nlife and messed with the community manager in the E3 2014 live chat…not a good idea. Anyway, in September 2014, there were quite some trolls here, and more specifically, I remember this anonymous troll called PS4 who always typed in a specific way. I think he always typed kind of incomplete sentences, and one time, I made an anonymous comment with his name saying something like “Sorry for bad Nintendo comments, it’s a good conpany…” something like that. And then people replied with something like, “I thought you hated Nintendo”, or “I’m confused” that kinda stuff. Thought it would be funny to share. Also, I looked back on comments on this site through the years, and 2012 had such a high number of comments regularly. It’s crazy.

              1. Haha, not at all. I guess I should’ve been clear on that, but no. Stardust started talking about trolls back then, which reminded me of the story I just told you. I just thought it would be nice to share a bit of my experience.

        1. You seem very cute and too young to be on this site. There’s rare trolls who will piss us off the minute they see a cute human face and crude. :(

          Be careful?

    1. Lost World was really nice. I like how the game throws you in, and you gotta figure stuff out, and how some places can be difficult to reach. For example, you see this ground plane way up high, but you really gotta experimemt to see which path + parkour move takes you there. Wisps were pretty much phoned in, and boss fights kinda sucked, but other than that, it was a nice, fresh experinced rhat suited my experienced gamer tastes, especially with the way many red coins have been hidden. A very good game indeed.

Lost World was 40% fun and 50% anger for me. It’s OK. I don’t like how they handled the difficulty. It doesn’t actually feel hard. Just really cheap and annoying.

The game was pretty great up until the snowball level. Things after that started to become too much of a chore. But Tropical Coast is where the fun ultimately started to plummet. That level started to make me regret purchasing it. Out of all levels, Windy Hill and Desert Ruins act 3 are the best in the game. Frozen Factory act 1 is pretty good too. It’s boss fights are really lame and cheap. The stages themselves are much more of a challenge than those Deadly Six clowns. The game is short and the story isn’t that great. Lost World was a disappointment for me. A step back from Generations, but I give them credit for at least trying something new.

            1. The game might be short, but there are those red coins in every level. I guess the Tropical Coast was a bit bland, some other areas as well, but I did like most of it. I gotta admit though, the game had a feeling that didn’t feel very official, or quality tweaked, also in an empty kinda way. I heard Colors and generations were solid though. Lost World’s quality felt weird, and looking at Sonic Boom, it straight out bombed. Anything before Lost World, excluding 06, looked Solid and full, even if many don’t agree with games such as Unleashed. I personally liked it, but that was years ago. You can still tell it was solid though.

  3. Can you please stop using the image of the Sonic toy with lent all over its hands? It just really bothers me for some reason…

  4. No lie I had a dream that Sega anounced Sonic adventure 2. I’m not big on Sonic so i don’t even know if a game like that exists. It’s weird tho I wasn’t even thinking of Sonic or Sega when I had the dream…

      1. Oh Yeah, (excuse my ignorance) I know now I searched for it after posting that comment..maybe it’s a sign we’re getting a 3rd one or maybe it’s just a random stupid dream.

  5. Well, SEGA, we the fans invite you to stop beating around the bush and just tell us what you’ve got in mind for Sonic’s 25th already, because I refuse, nor will I accept, SB Fire and Ice being the only Sonic game to come out this year or at least be in development.
