The increasingly infallible Nintendo has inadvertently crowned December as the month that it outsold the PlayStation 3.

Authoritative figures reveal that Nintendo sold a momentous 604,200 units, whilst Sony only mustered up sales of 490,700 for its unpropitious PlayStation 3 console.

Leading the influential pack was Microsoft’s Xbox 360 which sold an unprecedented 1.1 million units during December, though short supply’s of the aforementioned consoles are thought to have accounted for this impressive surge in sales.

  1. well in Japan the wii sold more than Double the Number of PS3’s and it was released after the PS3… plus the software sales show that Nintendo Wii and DS has conquered the first 15 positions is best sales and 24 in total out of top 30 best selling softwares in Japan

  2. I’d assume this is purely based upon statistics from the United States. I’d certainly be intrigued to see what the figures where like for Europe during the holiday season, though as far as I’m aware none have surfaced.
