Whilst the Wii is basking in a furore of sales, it appears that the PlayStation 3 is left lying dormant on store shelves.
American Technology Research analyst Paul-Jon McNealy recently studied sales of both prolific consoles and concluded; “Our channel checks yesterday of 52 retail stores, from boutiques to big-box retailers, showed that 28 of the 52 stores had PS3 consoles in stock, while none had Wii consoles in stock.”
haha! yeah thats really good news for Nintendo ey? well i saw a foto of the store in the US and it had 59 ps3 and there was people in the store but none looking at the PS3 plus Ps3 saying that they kept the pipeline moving is a lie cause up til now the Wii has sold much more than 2 million. just count, 1.1m in the US, then anoth 1 to near 2m in Japan, then 500,000 in europe during christmas, then anoth 51,000 in Australia. adding it up together they have SOLD from retailers about 3m consoles… PS3 shipped 2m and its already too much… YEAH!!
It’s certainly brilliant news for Nintendo. I just wonder how Sony will counteract this in the future…
yeah u bet they will have trouble, the numbers for Wii’s sold world wide are 3.54m great stuff Nintendo!!
Wii is cheaper and has buzz around it. PS3 is twice as pricey and is only out for the sake of being out until it launches everywhere, meanwhile Wii has all its major launches under its belt and is riding on Wii Sports and WarioWare momentum.
Moral of the story: why does everyone keep making this contrast? It’s such a no-brainer, i don’t know why people have to bring it up like it’s a surprise or it wasn’t expected. Ok fine, PS3 sales are sluggish, but let’s keep things in perspective here.
The Euro launch will make a difference, and by then PS3 will start getting some meaningful games. Wii owners have to wait beyond Spring for something worthwhile again. I know it’s easy to toot the horn right now, but it might be a little too easy, and therefore ridiculous.
the wii is the best system ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and people that are wondering that if the wii is such a ripoff the ps3 is 600$ just for good graphics and blu-ray disc. well ps3 fans u better turn into wii fans because the wii is the #1 best selling system in just 2 months. wiifans donot care about good graphics and the $600 ps3shit.
