Legendary games developer Shigeru Miyamoto recently sat down with MTV Multiplayer to discuss the beloved Star Fox franchise.
Whilst he readily admits he adores the series, Miyamoto can’t help but feel disappointed regarding the franchises sales of recent times.
“I tend to forget those games [laughs]. I’m a big fan of the Star Fox games. Every time we make a Star Fox game I’m hoping people will enjoy it as much as I do. Of course the goal every time is to try and make it more and more fun but, at least in Japan, the people that purchase the Star Fox games has decreased over the years. But we still try to make them more fun and hopefully people will see the appeal in those games.”

Make the game like the SNES & N64 games but add 4 player coop online then I’m in!

But indeed, I would love to see a Wii Star Fox game similar to that of the N64 one. Assault just didn’t seem to have the same ‘feel’ to Lylat Wars/Star Fox 64 and I think it may have something to do with LW/SF64 not having a save feature and having alternate paths.
Oh well. This is the closest thing to news that we’ve had in a while, so I guess it’s better than nothing.

I hope they make it one for the Wii. 4 player co-op (offline and online) along with 4 player battle mode(offline and online as well) would make it an definite choice for me. And it would have to be like Starfox 64, one of my favorite games of all time.
Make a Star Fox Wii game like the version on Nintendo 64! That would be awesome and will definatly boost the series sales. Just make a feature of online or multiplayer and have the characters reappear and include new storyline and we will buy it, I would in a Heartbeat!

Lack of sales? Maybe it has to do with a little something called Star Fox Adventures that seriously ruined the series… Come on Nintendo, take Star Fox back to the basics. That’s the only way to sell it.
Assault sucked. They need another adventures one, for Wii maybe.

On Rails Shooter is the only way to go with Star Fox. Walking around on a dinosaur planet killed the series for me on the gamecube. Even the space shooter subsections were dissappointing. Star Fox Wii could rip if it wanted too. We need to tell Shigs to make it all vehicular. No more saving dinosaur eggs, or whatever that game was about. Star Fox 64 was a remake of the SNES version, if you look at it hard enough. The series has massive potential. 4 Player online co-op would be amazing, I think.
im a big fan of nintendo and i have been playing their games for years and the one thing that i really noticed is that there is not a lot of starfox games. starfox is an awesome game that you guys have created and i would like to see this game sell more than it has been. like they said you should make i like the nintendo 64 version because that one was awesome, but not only that you could add some elements from starfox: assault because that one was awseome too. you should still be able to get in and out of your vehicle and run around and shoot people but you should also add hand to hand combat that would be cool with 4 player co-op online and offline and 4 player online and offline multiplayer because i want to be able to hop in an arwing and blow someone out of the sky. you should make it for the wii because people have been waiting for a wii release title for starfox because wii would be awesome for starfox especially with the controls. i am a huge fan of the starfox series and i want to see it grow and become even more awesome because starfox needs to make a great comeback because he doesnt have that many games and when he does get one they are awesome.
