Nintendo Wii: Nintendo Discontinues Metroid Prime Trilogy

Nintendo have stated that they’re discontinuing the recently released Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Nintendo Wii.

Whilst no official explanation has been given by Nintendo regarding the reasoning behind discontinuing the title, a Nintendo representative told Coffee with Games the following information:

“Unfortunately, Metroid Prime Trilogy is no longer being shipped. Having said that, you may be able to find what you seek through the secondhand video game market.”

“When we first introduced Metroid Prime Trilogy, it was announced that there would be limited availability. However, a reason for this was not announced. That being said, you may still be able to locate a copy via stores that specialize in previously played or used games.”

    1. Well it was a limited addition anyway and maximum saturation may have been reached. Also a new direction is coming for this franchise so Retro may be ready to move their development team on to new teritory. It can be said that the trilogy disc was created just to get the last amount of sale out of the three games.

  1. I’m glad I got my copy! Metroid prime trilogy is a really good game and really worth it for the price. Sucks for those that haven’t got it yet

  2. This hardly seems like news to me, a repackaging of three games that were either obsolete or had already past their window of mainstream commercial significance was bound to be somewhat of a limited production affair.

  3. Kinda sucks because I was waiting for the price to go down first but instead its just going to go up for now on. What a way to make me spend 50 bucks!

  4. Ya I’m glad I got my copy. HOWEVER when I put it in the Wii, the disk doesn’t even spin!! It’s either the Wii or the game. idk. It also feels wierd having it because I already have all three games but oh well.
