360 was the only console to have year to year growth this year @ 42%. nice job MS, Kinect was a big hot for the holidays. So much so they ran out of consoles at places.. Still strong after 5 years… poor Sony tho
Not surprising, where I work Nintendo outsells Sony/Microsoft 10:1 in hardware/software.
Glad to hear it. Gets us closer to that 40 million (I think? 30 or less?) mark when they said they’d start talking about getting out their next home console.
I really haven’t heard anything about the PSmove. I mean the Kinnect looks cool, but for all Sony’s talk about more precise motion controls there doesn’t seem to be a lot going on with it.
WAR Nintendo!
That is good news to hear. Poor Sony indeed. There was once a time when they were mighty.
great to hear, i’m glad the Wii is doing well, i’m proud to own one, you’d think the 360 would be outselling Wii right now what with the Kinect and stuff, but as a few of you said some stores ran out of 360’s, and yeah a shame about PS3 was never really a great system anyway, all its good for right now is just Blu-ray which is soon to be phased out
It’s honestly crazy to remember how dominant the Wii was back then. A lot of people underestimated Nintendo during that era, but the console brought in so many casual players and families that gaming suddenly felt mainstream everywhere. Meanwhile Xbox 360 and PS3 were fighting hard for the “hardcore gamer” audience. Feels nostalgic looking back at those years now 😄
Funny enough, modern gaming kinda has the same grind-heavy feeling sometimes, especially in competitive games and MMOs. That’s partly why services like https://wowvendor.com/shop/wow/pvp/
wow pvp boost became popular for players who just want to enjoy the fun parts of PvP without spending endless hours stuck in rating grind chaos.
