Nintendo Wii U: Activision Say Wii U Will Support ‘Deep Rich Multiplayer Games’

The Wii’s online offering is something that Nintendo knows that it needs to improve, that’s why the company publicly announced that it has recruited a third-party to help develop the online infrastructure behind the Wii U. Recent comments coming from Activision boss Bobby Kotick are extremely promising, as Kotick believes that  ‘it’s now more possible to do deep rich multiplayer games’ on Wii U. Hopefully this means that those who are looking to play games such as Call of Duty on Wii U will be offered a similar online experience as those playing the game on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.

“Well, without telling you our title plans, it’s now more possible to do deep rich multiplayer games – we need more clarity from Nintendo on the online capabilities, but we’ve had development systems for a while now and we’re very enthusiastic about it.”

  1. Awesomeness, Even I knew the online was gonna be awesome when Nintendo said they did’nt want to be #1 in that genre. Take that ppl

  2. Activision don’t make ‘Deep Rich Multiplayer Games’ however. They just re-release the same game over only with new maps. That’s not rich at all.

  3. Wii U is just sounding better and better each day! I haven’t been too big on online play but the Big N’s franchises could change that for me

  4. Well, even if first party games don’t have a ton of online support, it’s still nice to see that the Wii U will be taken seriously by the gaming community.

  7. just imagine how dope (yes, i’m stuck in the 90s lol) a multiplayer metroid could be for wii u…you choose to be samus or a member of the galactic federation

    1. That’s what I’m praying for. I don’t care what people say but Prime Hunters and Prime 2 proved that Metroid can do multiplayer well. Now if they put a bigger focus on it, it would be AMAZING. (of course they’d have to take as much time as they need or hire assistance so that the story mode maintains it’s quality)
