Nintendo 3DS: Brand New Mario Kart 7 Trailer And US And European Release Dates

Nintendo America and Nintendo Europe have both announced a release date for the forthcoming Mario Kart 7 for the Nintendo 3DS. The game will be released in Europe on December 2nd and December 4th in North America. Time to put down those pre-orders!

Mario Kart 7 will include a new optional first-person driving mode that is controlled using the gyro sensor. The game also introduces new playable characters like Lakitu and Metal Mario, and a tricks system like the one in Mario Kart Wii

  2. wow.. great trailer.. but they need really new characters not Metal mario!
i mean wtf? they could put it as unlocked clothes or something

i want to see link, pit and all other SMB characters joins the best karts game around

    1. It’s called /MARIO/ Kart for a reason. I don’t know if you know this, but having MARIO in the name tends to denote that the game is about the Mario franchise and it’s close relatives, such as Yoshi or Donkey Kong. It’s not a cross-series racer. Unless it’s called Super Racing Bros. or something, just don’t expect characters from other franchises. And by the way, unlocked clothes would have to be for every single character, not just Mario. And I’m pretty sure Link and Pit wouldn’t be taken very seriously if they’re put into a game like Mario Kart. They’re fighters, they’re not all-around like Mario.

  3. Metal Mario, Lakitu as playable characters. First person mode. Gyrosensor controls (which is pretty stupid, since the 3d will not work) and the Fire Flower as an item. This is gonna be amazing.

All we need now is Professor E.Gadd as a playable character.

  4. i definitely saw a “7” in the item reel, exactly like the “7” in the title, and i am quite sure i saw a tanooki leaf item. I really hope birdo and waluigi are charcters and i hope there are buttload of karts

  5. *sees trailer*
    Smh *sign*……………..TAKE MY MONEY NOW!!!
I’m so happy they kept the trick system! I think this might be the best mario kart. Only thing that will hold this back is the music.

  6. The Streetpass feature is so awesome!! First you 3DS’s exchange ghost data, yeah cool.. But you can also register the other players to your friend list to play against them online! :D
(SpotPass gives you ghost data, too)

      1. Metal mario! WOOT! I forgot what game metal mario is from. What game was metal mario from, It’s not sunshine or am i remembering that game wrong?

  7. Anyone notice Europe are getting games before NOA now? A game later on this month is 30th for Europe, next month for NOA.

Xenoblades NOA does not get EU does.

Mario kart, Europe gets it 2 days before. 3DS EU gets it 2 days before. i’m not complaining but why has it all changed, Even games NOA are making are getting released in EU first :S anyone else noticed?

    1. I would like it like Star fox 64 3D. Just like in Star fox 3DS, they should have Gyro controls to move left and right so the 3DS is like a stearing wheel, Nintendo should have the normal circle pad controls just like the d-pad in mario kart but in the circle pad type for better stearing.

      1. Oh thats not how it would work though. Nintendo has not confirmed any of this its my opinion. the Circle pad is most likely true. Nintendo if your developing controls still, Put the Gyro thing in.
