Nintendo Wii: The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword Is The Hardest Zelda Yet

UK gaming publication NGamer is convinced that the forthcoming The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Wii is the hardest Zelda yet. Whether it is actually more challenging than previous titles remains to be seen, but we should find out November 18th in Europe and November 20th in the United States.

      1. It has the same mechanic. Remember you have to use the shield high or low to block. Now you have to use it and your strike in 360. Fighting should be fun again which is the fun part for me. So yes in the later parts it could get pretty scary which is good.

        1. Not to mention too that you have to upgrade your weapons, a feature that hasn’t been seen since Adventure of Link’s level up system

      1. In other words, GET THE DUNGEON MAP! and prepare for switching the F***ing iron boots off and on and off and on and off and on…

    1. They probably mean it’s the most difficult 3D Zelda yet, not in general as I don’t think it’s more challenging than the ones on the NES, which is fine by me as they’re pretty cryptic and I found them to be boring. It wasn’t until A Link To The Past that I began to enjoy a 2D Zelda.

      1. And even that I doubt. All the 3d zeldas just got progressively easier, with the exception of majora’s mask. That game was pretty evil.

        1. Not really. I don’t think they got easier or at least that much easier. Personally I think the only reason why people consider games like Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask difficult is because of how hard it was as a kid rather than how hard it is now. Now, it’s still challenging but not as hard as how I remember it from back then. Wind Waker and Twilight Princess I found to be slightly less challenging than Majora’s Mask but just as hard as Ocarina of Time.

          1. i found wind waker and twilight princess to be harder than ocarina. i dont know whats harder, twilight or waker, twilight was a much bigger and had a much epicer scale, while wind waker for some reason i found rather challenging.

        2. Actually, that and this are both the second game on their respective systems, so it’s only appropriate that they’re both some of the hardest 3D ones. Mind you, the only reason Twilight Princess doesn’t fit is because of its Wii launch status.

      1. Exactly every one was casual until they got good. The hardcore can’t under this because their games dont require the high amount of skill needed for a good nintendo game.

Beat dkc returns and tell me it was easy, or the new Mario or the new wario, try demon blade, sin and punishment, most hardcore gamers can not even complete resort just the flying parts. Or even the sword battle in showdown. Most can not beat redsteel two! Or metroid prime and I mean any of them. The list does go on and f zero is another high skill game even before sega got it.

    1. Nah, it’s not. It’s definitely challenging at some points but it’s not as cryptic as the NES ones or as challenging, the challenge in those ones are just ridiculous. They probably mean the hardest 3D Zelda.

  1. Using the controls are hard enough with them being new I found, I fought a moblin, a spider, and a stalfos miniboss and thought they were tough!

  2. If it’s as hard as Majora’s Mask, I’d be pleasantly surprised as I found that to be the hardest 3D Legend of Zelda. Never enjoyed the 2D ones, to cryptic and boring for me…except for A Link To The Past, that was awesome.

    1. The ones for the NES are more just for playing, while the Zelda games from the SNES on are more concentrated on telling the story in-game. You don’t have to go repeating your opinion so many times, we get it. :D

      1. ^^^^thank you! I was saying the same thing as I went through the comments. Yes, yes it might be the hardest 3D Zelda, you don’t like the 2D Zeldas…..

        1. When all else fails, just play the damn song of time. Whatever you lose, you can always just get back later anyway, and given how the game is pretty much on a loop, you’d have to be really dumb to not know how to do something that you’ve already done before.

  3. You have to understand the game play possibilities. Your strike will have to match your enemy while it is moving and while it is trying to strike you. The fighting has always been the hardest part because most puzzles in Zelda don’t kill you. So you have possible new blocking striking abilities and the AI has new ways to trip you up. It should be fun. I’ve been missing the action in this action adventure. The graphic are looking very good also for a wii game. They pushed the system well and obviously they have reached it’s limits. I hope they remaster this game right before

  4. As long as there’s no time limit *cough* Majora’s Mask *cough*, it should be manageable. I’ve always found 3D Zeldas easier than 2Ds.

  5. I think this applies to the 3D Zelda games. I’m playing through the original The Legend of Zelda and the level 5 temple is a beast! I hear Zelda 2 is among the hardest games in general. I do have high hopes for this. The hint system was made so less experience people can play the game, hence more new fans and consumers. That also gives Nintendo a “casual” excuse to make their games ridiculously difficult. DKCR was tough, but it was fun. New Super Mario Bros may look :kiddie” and casual, but it was one tough beast, specially in multiplayer.

  6. Given a lot of the new stuff in this game, I would imagine this bit of news is more than just hype. This little detail is very small, but apparently when you’re on fire and you try to bring out a bomb, it will automatically explode while you’re holding it. It’s obvious common sense that this sort of thing would happen, but it’s not like it happened in previous Zelda games now, did it.

    1. You might as well compare another random game to demon souls and you’re gonna get the same results. Don’t make unnecessary comparisons irrelevant to the topic.

  7. Adventures of Link was the hardest Zelda ever!

Has Ngamer played Adventures of Link or not, Or am I seeing Years of trying to complete Skyward?
